Under the Licensing Act 2003 anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol has to hold a personal licence.
In order to qualify for a personal licence an applicant must hold a licensing qualification which is Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) accredited and Government approved.
The BIIAB qualification, the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders satisfies both requirements.
